The TAKEDOWN H2020 European Project has closed with a final conference at the Local Police Headquarter in Valencia.
New Approaches for Fighting Radicalization, Terrorism and Organized Crime
The final conference of the European Project TAKEDOWN will take place on 18 June 2019 in Valencia. Under the title "New Approaches to the Fight against Radicalisation, Terrorism and Organised Crime", the meeting will host experts from Europe and the United States.

As part of the conference, the project will launch different services on two online platforms, with one of them particularly supporting practitioners for fighting violent extremism and terrorism (https://www.firstlinepractitioners.com/) and the second one providing a market place for LEAs and security companies. Furthermore, the consortium will present the outcomes of the project and discuss future implications with external experts.
Round table “The fight against organized crime and terrorism”
The debate will address how Belgium and Italy have developed their expertise on the fight against organized crime and international terrorism and how they could exchange their respective best practices. The discussion will be introduced by the Ambassador of Italy to Belgium, Elena Basile, and the Rector of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Caroline Pauwels. Key-note speakers will be:

Leaving terrorism behind: Ensure recognising of the position of victims of terrorism and promote former extremists to return to society, as both are important values for a resilient democratic society.
